ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS

Progressive Program

Progressive Program

The program for dancers either beginning their dance journey, or seeking to progress their dance training alongside their commitments to other activities. These classes are designated by both age/grade and level of experience: beginning (beg,) intermediate (int,) or advanced (adv.)

Progressive Beg, Beg/Int, & Int Classes: These classes allow dancers to begin and develop their passion for dance at any age with a class schedule of their choice that compliments their lives. These dancers perform in CREO’s Spring Recital (early June.)

Progressive Int/Adv, Adv 1, & Adv 2 Classes: Formerly 4P and 5P, these dancers commit to the following,

  • 2 days of dance per week including at least one Ballet or Ballet/Contemporary class
  • Summer class requirement for 2024 will be defined in January of 2024 (summer requirements for 2024: An intensive, Blitz, or 15 hours of punchcard class. Please choose classes from the level 4-5 classes.)
  • Perform at Cathedral Dance Festival (early May)
  • Perform in CREO’s Spring Recital (early June)

Accelerated Program

Accelerated Program

CREO’s Accelerated Program is designed for dancers seeking to accelerate his or her development in dance. These dancers have chosen dance as their primary extracurricular activity. Accelerated Program dancers are required to commit to the following,

Fall-Spring 2024-2025 Summer 2024 Performances
All Levels – 2 days of Ballet/week Level 1 – an intensive or Blitz All Levels – CREO’s Spring Recital
(early June)
Level 4-7 – At least 1 elective
(Contemporary/ Jazz/ Hip-Hop)
Level 2-3 –   An intensive & Blitz or an intensive/Blitz & 10 hours of punchcard class. Level 3-7 – Cathedral Dance Festival
(early May)
*Tap and Acro do not count as elective classes as they are shorter in length Level 4-7 –  30 hours of punchcard class OR
2 intensives (Ballet, Jazz, or Blitz) plus 10 hours of punchcard class
Class attendance is mandatory 3 weeks prior to a performance

Conservatory Program

Conservatory Program

CREO’s Conservatory Program is for dancers considering a future in dance beyond CREO. Including four audition-based tracks, these dancers commit to a class regimen reflective of the highest degree of excellence in their respective areas of focus. Conservatory dancers are considered ambassadors for the CREO studio, both as leaders within the CREO community and representatives of CREO outside the studio.

CREO Classical Ballet

CREO Classical Ballet is CREO’s conservatory track for the dancer seeking to focus their training towards technical and artistic excellence in Ballet and pursuit of Pointe. This comprehensive program equips today’s young dancers with the artistry and athleticism expected of classical ballet in the 21st century.

Program Requirements

Flight

Flight is the conservatory track dedicated to building artists that are strong in multiple styles of dance and ready to explore choreography which blends together a broad range of movement vocabulary, techniques, and artistic expression. Flight dancers demonstrate extreme flexibility, agility, strength, & the ability to pick up choreography quickly. Class time is dedicated to building avant-garde choreography and expanding the dancer’s capacity for expression on stage.

Hip-Hop Invitational, Pre-TEAM, and TEAM Hip-Hop

CREO’s Conservatory track for experienced hip-hop dancers includes three tiered ensembles: Hip-Hop Invitational, Pre-TEAM, and TEAM Hip-Hop. This track emphasizes high physicality, athleticism, and individual expression through the hallmarks of contemporary hip-hop movement including popping, locking, tutting, breaking, rhythm, groove, isolation, groundedness, and acrobatic skills.

Footprints, Roots, and The CREODance VERVE: Twin Cities

CREO’s conservatory track for faith-based dance includes three tiered faith-based ensembles, Footprints, Roots & The CREO DanceVERVE: Twin Cities. Dancers participate explore their faith through devotional study and perform dance works which vary in genre (ballet/contemporary/jazz/hip-hop) and in scale from stand-alone pieces to full-length productions that explore themes of Christian faith and worship. Recent production repertory includes productions such as The Nativity, Esther: for Such a Time as This, and The Companion: The Story of Ruth & Naomi.

The mission of the faith-based conservatory track is to give young people an opportunity to grow in faith and to express what they have learned through art & dance. Because we were created by God in excellence we, encourage our artists to create their work in excellence.  “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.” Colossians 3:23
