Mommy/Daddy & Me

A special class for Mommy and baby! Mommy and Me classes are a fun way for moms and their toddlers to connect with each other in a playful environment.  Our safe learning environment provides a space for learning, nurturing, and building a bond between Mommy and Little Dancer. Mommies get a chance to exercise and little dancers get a chance to interact with others, listen to music, play with props, learn songs, and learn dance moves.

Creative Movement (age 3-4)

Creative movement stimulates the imagination and encourages self-expression. Dancers learn ballet basics, explore rhythm patterns, and develop motor skills in a creative, exciting environment. We will learn how to stand in line, be kind to others, follow the leader, and express our hearts through movement.

Ballet

Our Ballet K-1 class continues building on the ballet fundamentals learned in Pre-Ballet in a goal oriented environment.  Class includes basic barre exercises, balances, stretches and locomotor movements. Dancers will also have opportunity in each class to express their own creativity through guided improvisation. CREO ballet classes incorporate both classical and contemporary music.

Pre-Pointe and Pointe

At CREO, we carry on the ballet tradition of training advanced students to dance on pointe. Instructor approval is needed for all CREO pointe and pre-pointe classes.

Bible & Ballet

This class teaches ballet basics* through the lens of the Christian faith. Dancers will learn dance fundamentals, explore rhythm patterns, and develop motor skills in a creative, exciting, faith-centered environment. Instructors will use both classical and contemporary Christian music. We will learn to be kind to others, follow the leader, and express our hearts through movement. Prayer and worship will also be a part of Bible & Ballet.

*For a more in depth description of the ballet curriculum for the class please see Creative Movement 3-4, Pre-Ballet 4-6, or Ballet K-1

Faith-Based Ballet

This class teaches the art of ballet and contemporary dance through the lens of the Christian faith. Dancers will enjoy a classical ballet barre. Across the floor and center work will explore both classical and contemporary ballet elements. Instructors will use both classical and contemporary Christian music. Prayer and worship will also be a part of Faith-Based Ballet.

Ballet/Contemporary

Contemporary is a fusion of ballet, jazz, and modern dance.  CREO has created a ballet program which develops the ballerina from the inside out.  Our classical ballet barre is infused with spinal articulation, contraction, extension, rise and fall.  We also engage our dancers with a variety of both classical and contemporary music. Our ballet curriculum empowers the contemporary dancer toward stronger leaps, turns, extensions, and general movement acquisition.

Hip-Hop

Hip-Hop dance emerged in the ‘70s and ‘80s and is a collection of high-energy social dance forms.  This class will get dancers moving with fun, fresh, key steps such as toprock, basic breakdancing, freezes, six-step, popping, and locking.  Hip-Hop dance is athletic, exciting, and stresses individuality and self-expression.  CREO teachers use age appropriate, wholesome hip-hop music, both old school and contemporary.

Jazz

Considered the only true American art form, jazz, allows students to learn rhythm, isolation of body parts, and body awareness.  CREO jazz classes cover a brief history of classic jazz movement and music. Dancers will also learn progressions of leaps and turns, and how to dance with the intense athleticism and rhythmic precision of contemporary jazz styles.  CREO teachers use age appropriate, wholesome jazz music.

Tap

In tap class, our students are not only dancers, but musicians!  Tap dance is a rhythm-based dance form that helps develop dancers’ coordination, sense of rhythm, and musicality.  Dancers will begin with combinations of basic skills such as shuffle, flap, stomp, walking steps, and ball changes, and progress to more difficult steps including time step, pullbacks, wings, and many more.  Tap dancers will practice skills at the barre and through across the floor and center work, as well as developing their improvisational skills.

Acro

Our Acro class is a great supplement for both Recreational and Progressive dancers!  Acro classes allow dancers to expand their strength, flexibility, balance, and build a vocabulary of tricks for break dancing, partnering, solos, and beyond. Skills taught will include rolls, backbends, front/back walkovers, handstands, cartwheels, and more. More advanced classes will move on to aerial cartwheels, handsprings, and more. CREO is proud to be Acrobatic Arts ® certified!
